WHIPPLE ECM CALIBRATION UPGRADE

The Whipple Mercury Marine 454/502 Magnum MPI ECM Calibration Upgrade is designed for compatible Mercury Marine 454 Mag MPI and 502 Mag MPI engine packages using supported MEFI-1 or MEFI-3 engine control modules. This calibration service is intended for customers who want improved performance from a properly running stock engine without replacing the entire engine package.

Whipple engineers developed this calibration to optimize the engine's available power by increasing the RPM limit, increasing spark advance, and modifying the fuel curve for use with 91 octane or better fuel. The recalibration is listed to add up to 25 HP over stock while maintaining stock reliability when used on the proper application with the correct fuel and setup.

The calibration also raises the RPM limit from the stock 5100 RPM to 5400 RPM, giving customers more prop selection flexibility. Whipple also supports many custom calibrations for built or highly modified engines when the complete engine combination and calibration requirements are confirmed.

Calibration Service Process

The ECM must be removed and sent to Whipple Superchargers for calibration service. Include a copy of the receipt and any relevant engine, boat, fuel, serial number, ECM, and setup details with the ECM. Typical turnaround time is 7-10 days.

New ECM units may be available upon request. Custom calibrations may also be available for built or highly modified engines when the complete engine combination and calibration requirements are provided.
