The 1993-2001 Mercury Marine 454/502 Magnum MPI Gen 6 3.8L Whipple Supercharger Kit is designed for compatible Mercury Marine 454 Mag MPI, 502 Mag MPI, and related 8.2L MPI applications using supported MEFI engine control systems. This system combines Whipple twin-screw supercharger technology, intercooled boost, ECM calibration support, and marine-focused hardware into a complete supercharger package.

Now featuring the Whipple Gen 6 3.8L supercharger, this kit is engineered to deliver instant boost response, strong low-speed torque, faster planing, improved cruising performance, and increased top-end power. The Whipple twin-screw design can generate boost quickly with throttle input, giving the 454/502 Magnum MPI platform a broad and responsive power curve.

The system is designed around approximately 6 psi of intercooled boost and is listed to increase power by nearly 50% in supported applications. Whipple calibration support helps manage idle, fuel, spark, and detonation protection when used with compatible supported controllers.

Stage 1 uses the W235AX 3.8L compressor with a standard 8" wide x 2.5" thick intercooler. Stage 2 uses the same base system but adds the MOAC cupronickel intercooler core for increased cooling capacity and additional power potential. Belt-system selection should match the engine configuration, with V-belt support for 1993-1997 applications and serpentine belt support for 1998-2001 applications where applicable.

Important ECM note: Only MEFI-3, MEFI-4, MEFI-4A, and MEFI-4B controllers can be used for Whipple-supplied calibrations. MEFI-1 applications require an ECM upgrade. Other aftermarket systems may work, but Whipple cannot supply calibrations for other controllers.
