BILLET SPRING-LOADED BELT TENSIONER
The Whipple billet spring-loaded belt tensioner is a direct replacement upgrade for compatible 2020-2022 Shelby GT500 5.2L applications. It is designed for high-performance belt-drive setups where the stock tensioner can run out of adjustment, lose belt control, or contribute to belt slip.
Built from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this upgraded tensioner features a black anodized finish, dual-bearing arm support, and increased travel compared to the stock tensioner. The added travel helps provide more adjustment range and improved belt control for modified supercharger drive combinations.
The tensioner is available with selectable idler pulley diameters to support different crank pulley and balancer setups. Due to the change in tensioner geometry, belt length must be verified during installation. For stock pulley configurations, Gates K080680 is typically recommended. Pulley diameter changes may require a different belt.

Application note: Verify vehicle year, engine application, supercharger drive setup, crank pulley or balancer configuration, idler pulley diameter, belt length, and complete installation requirements before ordering. The 3.0 in. idler pulley is standard for stock balancers, while the 2.50 in. idler pulley is used for overdrive balancers. Belt length must be confirmed during installation.
