Description

MERCURY MARINE 350 MAGNUM / 350 SCORPION
WHIPPLE STAGE 1 PCM CALIBRATION UPGRADE

The Whipple Stage 1 PCM Calibration Upgrade is designed for compatible Mercury Marine 350 Magnum and 350 Scorpion small block applications using PCM555 engine control. This calibration service is intended for stock engine combinations where the customer wants improved performance, throttle response, and torque output while retaining the existing PCM.

The Stage 1 calibration is designed around 91 octane or better fuel instead of the stock 87 octane calibration. Whipple adjusts key calibration areas including spark advance, ignition dwell, and air-fuel ratio to help increase torque throughout the RPM curve and improve peak horsepower. Customers have also reported improved throttle response and cleaner transoms with reduced soot compared to the stock calibration.

Stage 1 Calibration Features

  • High-performance PCM555 calibration for compatible Mercury Marine 350 Magnum / 350 Scorpion applications
  • Designed for stock engine combinations using 91 octane or better
  • Increased maximum spark advance
  • Increased ignition dwell from the ignition coil
  • Optimized air-fuel ratio
  • 5600 RPM limit
  • Listed 5-8% power increase over stock
  • Improved acceleration with increased torque output
  • May help reduce transom soot when the engine and fuel system are operating properly

Calibration Service Process

The PCM must be removed and sent to Whipple Superchargers for calibration service. Include a copy of the receipt and any relevant engine, boat, fuel, and setup details with the PCM. Typical turnaround time is 7-10 days.

New PCM units may be available upon request. Custom calibrations may also be available for certain modified engine combinations, earlier calibration updates, custom camshaft or engine packages, and other supported Mercury Marine PCM555 applications.

Application note: Verify engine model, PCM type, fuel octane, current calibration, engine modifications, and complete setup requirements before ordering. This is a calibration service and does not diagnose or repair mechanical, fuel system, ignition, sensor, or general running issues.
