W140AX 2.3L WHIPPLE COMPETITION SUPERCHARGER KIT

The Whipple W140AX 2.3L Competition Supercharger Kit is built for compatible 2001-2004 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning and Harley-Davidson 5.4L truck applications where maximum performance is the goal. This competition-use package is designed for customers who want a major airflow and power upgrade over the factory Eaton roots-type supercharger setup.

The W140AX 2.3L twin-screw compressor gives Lightning and Harley truck owners a larger, more efficient positive-displacement supercharger package with strong airflow, instant boost response, and the broad torque curve Whipple is known for. On properly matched Lightning combinations, this system can support gains of up to 175 HP, with more available when combined with high-performance engine modifications, fuel system upgrades, pulley changes, and proper calibration.

Whipple's axial-entry compressor design improves airflow into the supercharger and helps deliver more air at lower compressor speeds when compared to less efficient layouts. The W140AX compressor is designed to reduce inlet air temperature and parasitic loss compared to the factory roots-style supercharger, helping produce cooler, denser charge air and more usable power per pound of boost.

The bolt-on system is designed around a large-mouth inlet casting, high-flow cold air intake system with a massive S&B True Flow 9 in. filter, oversized bypass valve, pulley tuning capability, and the required installation hardware for supported applications. The system is designed to accommodate factory and aftermarket throttle bodies and does not require hood or firewall modification on supported setups.

Depending on pulley setup, crank pulley, engine build, fuel system, calibration, and supporting components, the W140AX platform can support a broad boost range from approximately 8-25 PSI. Out of the box, the kit is designed to support up to 13 PSI, while higher boost levels require the proper engine, fuel, cooling, belt-drive, and calibration support.

Using Stock 7.5 in. Crank Pulley:

  • 3.25 in. supercharger pulley - 11.5 PSI
  • 3.00 in. supercharger pulley - 13.5 PSI
  • 2.75 in. supercharger pulley - 15.5 PSI
  • 2.50 in. supercharger pulley - 17.5 PSI

Using 9.0 in. Crank Pulley:

  • 3.75 in. supercharger pulley - 12.5 PSI
  • 3.50 in. supercharger pulley - 14.5 PSI
  • 3.25 in. supercharger pulley - 16.5 PSI
  • 3.00 in. supercharger pulley - 18.5 PSI
  • 2.75 in. supercharger pulley - 21 PSI
  • 2.50 in. supercharger pulley - 23 PSI
