Few factory-supercharged platforms respond to added airflow and supercharger capacity like GM's LT4-powered performance cars. Whether in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 or Cadillac CTS-V, the LT4 already delivers impressive performance from the factory. The Whipple Gen 6 upgrade takes that foundation significantly further, adding the airflow, cooling capacity, and boost response needed for a substantial increase in power while maintaining clean integration with the factory platform.

Whipple Superchargers has been at the forefront of twin-screw supercharging technology since 1987, engineering some of the most powerful and efficient forced-induction systems in the industry. That experience carries into the Gen 6 3.0L system for the LT4, delivering a major step up in supercharger displacement and airflow potential compared to the factory unit while retaining the drivability expected from a properly engineered Whipple package.

At the center of the system is Whipple's Gen 6 3.0L twin-screw supercharger, designed to support exceptional airflow and immediate boost response. On qualifying applications, the system is capable of producing up to 805 horsepower and 735 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane fuel under ideal conditions. The large 112mm inlet opening, front-entry design, and increased displacement work together to support stronger airflow capacity and broad power throughout the RPM range.

To support that level of output, the system uses a patented dual intercooler core, dual-pass intercooler system designed to improve cooling efficiency under demanding conditions. The package is also designed to work with the stock intake system and includes HP Tuners RTD support for calibration. Additional performance-oriented details include a dual-drilled runner set for LT1 and LT4 bolt patterns and cast-in port injection bosses for race applications requiring machining.

When used as intended, the result is a serious LT4 upgrade with strong power potential, improved airflow capacity, and 50-state legal compliance for qualifying applications.

Application Notes:

Camaro ZL1 applications require the Whipple carbon fiber insert or an aftermarket hood for proper clearance.

Camaro ZL1 applications also require subframe spacer installation.

For 2017-up Camaro ZL1 and CTS-V applications, TCM support requires an unlock and is not handled through the standard RTD process. For 2016 CTS-V applications, PCM and TCM read capability is supported.

Calibration request should be completed before beginning installation. Whipple calibration processing may take 1-2 business days, and the supplied files are locked to the provided RTD tool.
