Whipple Superchargers is developing a Gen 6 3.8L supercharger upgrade for the 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC. This upcoming system is being engineered as a higher-efficiency upgrade for Ford's factory-supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 platform, with a focus on airflow efficiency, thermal management, OEM-level integration, and repeatable performance.

Ford has now confirmed the production Dark Horse SC at 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed Tremec dual-clutch transmission and lightweight carbon-fiber driveshaft. Ford Racing also confirmed that order banks opened in April 2026, with initial customer deliveries scheduled for Summer 2026.

While final Whipple specifications have not yet been released, the Dark Horse SC platform provides a strong foundation for a high-efficiency supercharger upgrade. The factory vehicle combines a supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 with track-focused cooling, driveline, braking, aerodynamic, and suspension development.

Leveraging Whipple's experience developing supercharger systems for high-output Mustang platforms, including Predator-powered Shelby GT500 applications, the Dark Horse SC upgrade is being developed with the same core priorities: airflow efficiency, thermal control, drivability, fitment quality, and repeatable performance under load.

The factory Dark Horse SC was developed alongside Ford Racing, Mustang GTD, GT3, and GT4 programs, with engineering emphasis placed on track durability, cooling capacity, aerodynamic balance, and sustained performance. Available Ford Track Pack content includes carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, rear-seat delete, and aerodynamic components capable of generating up to 620 lbs of rear downforce at 180 mph.
