Whipple Superchargers is developing a Gen 6 3.8L supercharger upgrade for the upcoming 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC, Ford’s newest race-bred, factory-supercharged Mustang positioned between the Mustang Dark Horse Performance Package and the Mustang GTD.

According to Ford Racing, the Mustang Dark Horse SC was engineered and validated alongside the Mustang GTD, GT3, and GT4 programs, with extensive testing conducted at Sebring and Virginia International Raceway. This track-first development approach resulted in major advancements in cooling, aerodynamics, braking, and chassis capability over the standard Mustang Dark Horse.

At the core of the Dark Horse SC is a factory-supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This engine architecture traces its roots to the Shelby GT500 program and has been further refined by Ford Racing with an emphasis on increased airflow, thermal capacity, and sustained track durability.

The Dark Horse SC platform combines straight-line performance with advanced aerodynamic and cooling systems, including a revised front fascia, large vented aluminum hood, underbody airflow management, and an available Track Pack capable of generating up to 620 pounds of rear downforce at 180 mph.
