About Whipple Supercharger
Whipple Superchargers is owned and operated by it’s founder Art Whipple and is located in Fresno, CA. Founder and president Art Whipple has always been regarded as a true innovator and enjoyed a very successful racing career as crew chief and owner of Top Fuel Funny Cars and Dragsters, as well as many other forms of racing such as circle and drag boats. While owning and tuning the famed Revelloution Top Fuel Funny Car, Art and driver Ed "The Ace" McCulloch won the 1970 NHRA US Nationals and NHRA 1971 Winter Nationals. Art later retired from racing to start a family but quickly found himself again tuning for his father in-law, Ed Wills which fielded Top Fuel Funny Cars and Top Fuel Hydro boats under the famed "Mr. Ed" and "Whipple & Mr. Ed" banners.
In 1987, Art Whipple got the performance bug again and decided to get back into the performance industry with some new technology. After countless hours of research, Art found a company located in Australia named Sprintex. Whipple quickly adapted their unique "twin-screw" supercharger to his own personal 1988 Chevrolet Silverado. Within a few months, Whipple Superchargers became the exclusive distributor of the Sprintex Supercharger.
