The 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC is Ford’s newest factory-supercharged Mustang and represents a major step forward in track-focused performance. Official Ford releases now confirm the Dark Horse SC produces 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque from a factory-supercharged 5.2L Predator V8, paired with a seven-speed TREMEC dual-clutch transmission and lightweight carbon-fiber driveshaft.

Ford Racing reports that order banks opened in April 2026, with initial customer deliveries scheduled for Summer 2026. The Dark Horse SC was developed and validated alongside the Mustang GTD, GT3, and GT4 programs at circuits including Sebring and Virginia International Raceway.

At the core of the platform is a factory-supercharged 5.2L Predator V8, an engine architecture that traces its roots to the Shelby GT500 while benefiting from extensive refinement focused on airflow, cooling, and sustained track durability.

CONFIRMED FORD DETAILS

Ford’s current Dark Horse SC model information lists the platform with a 5.2L supercharged cross-plane crank V8, seven-speed TREMEC dual-clutch transmission, lightweight carbon-fiber driveshaft, powertrain coolers, 3.73 TORSEN differential, active valve performance exhaust, launch control, Variable Traction Control, magnesium tower-to-tower brace, and MagneRide damping system.

Available Track Pack content further sharpens the car for track use with a package-specific MagneRide calibration, 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, rear-seat delete, and aero components capable of producing up to 620 lbs of downforce at 180 mph.

Ford also lists available package content including the Track Pack, Track Pack Special Edition, Teal Accent Pack, and Carbon Fiber Exterior Package.

WHY THIS PLATFORM MATTERS

With Ford emphasizing track endurance, thermal capacity, and aerodynamic efficiency, the Dark Horse SC platform reinforces a familiar reality for performance enthusiasts: sustained boost and repeatable performance depend on efficient airflow, robust intercooling, and well-managed under-hood temperatures.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR PERFORMANCE ENTHUSIASTS

Factory-supercharged Mustangs have historically been strong candidates for higher-efficiency supercharger upgrades, particularly when owners seek increased airflow, improved thermal management, and expanded performance potential beyond the factory system.

Whipple has supported high-output Mustang platforms for years, including supercharger development for Predator-powered applications such as the Shelby GT500. Validation work is underway to support the Dark Horse SC platform once full production vehicle specifications are released.
